Both Season 1 and 2 premiered on national television in Tanzania and have been repeatedly broadcast through reruns. They have also been distributed on DVD through licensing arrangements with commercial distributors. Additionally, Siri ya Mtungi (SyM) has maintained a robust social media presence. The Tanzania Capacity and Communication Project (TCCP) used social media channels, such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to actively promote the program and engage viewers. Social media posts which asked viewers about their own experiences with similar issues presented an opportunity for users to discuss issues raised by the series amongst themselves. Additionally, qualitative feedback from Facebook fans was used during the development of Season 2.

Full-length episodes of SyM with subtitles were uploaded weekly on YouTube, following the initial broadcast. Currently, season 1 has had millions of views, with season 2 proving to be even more popular.

Finally, in a unique arrangement with the Tanzanian television station Vodacom, season 2 episodes were offered through Vodacom’s mobile platform (“Simu TV”) a week before airing on broadcast television.

SyM also hosts a robust website, where visitors can read about their favorite characters, watch full episodes, see photos of the production process, and learn more about SyM’s health objectives.
