The Radio Magazine Program has delivered key social and health behavior change messages through quality, entertaining radio programming. It is an important platform for partners and stakeholders to discuss health issues that are tailored to local needs and preferences. The platform highlights a multitude of national campaigns and movements, including national vaccination campaigns, annual vitamin A drops, and multiple Tanzania Capacity and Communication Project (TCCP) and partner national campaigns and initiatives. The launch of the National Plan for the Elimination of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV in 2012, and World AIDS Day activities in 2014 and 2015 were also covered by Radio Magazine Programs.
The public was responsive to the Radio Magazine Programs. Radio producers reported that they received many calls and text messages from listeners requesting more information on program content after episodes aired. In close partnership with local stakeholders, the radio magazine program has generated demand for services, increased knowledge, shifted attitudes, and motivated behavior change.
