The results of an impact evaluation of the campaign conducted in October-November of 2013 revealed the following:

  • Over a third of respondents were exposed to the campaign.
  • Of those that heard about the SMS component, a third texted the key word to the number provided and 83% of those completed their registration in the system.
  • Exposure to the campaign was a significant predictor of several outcomes including: An increased number of ANC visits, increased odds of HIV testing, greater odds of sleeping under a mosquito net, increased odds of receiving two or more doses of SP, improved individual birth planning.
