Advocacy is an important component of integrating Standard Days Method® (SDM) and other Fertility Awareness-based Methods (FAM) into programs. Advocating for integration is a strategy which targets activities toward key stakeholders and decision makers. Getting support from stakeholders and decision makers is important for both addressing enactment of a national population policy or inclusion of reproductive health services in a national health insurance plan as well as persuading actors closer to ground activities that there is buy-in from the top.

This section provides tools for developing an advocacy plan (The Policy Project), general family planning advocacy tools, as well as tools for FAM specific advocacy.

SDM advocacy & technical documents are published both by IRH and other organizations to feature important research results and programmatic lessons learned. Topics covered range from how the SDM facilitates repositioning family planning to expanding access to family planning options, improving couple communication, and male involvement.
