Today we launch mHealth Knowledge (www.mHealthKnowledge.org). Tomorrow we’ll work to gather, generate, synthesize, and learn more—with your help.

The Knowledge for Health (K4Health) Project is pleased to announce the launch of mHealth Knowledge—a portal to K4Health’s resources on mobile health (mHealth). You can now find all of K4Health’s mHealth products in one location.

mHealth Knowledge is simple by design—you only need a few minutes to explore what’s there. The site features the four existing components of K4Health’s mHealth portfolio—the mHealth Basics eLearning Course, the mHealth Planning Guide, the mHealth Evidence Database, and the mHealth Working Group—along with a news center highlighting the latest hot topics in mHealth, sourced by K4Health staff and our community partners.

You might ask, “How is this site different from existing mHealth portals?” Here’s your answer: We launched mHealth Knowledge to connect you—global health professionals—to the people, products, and ideas that you need to do your mHealth work effectively. We strive to be your partner in navigating through the ever-growing body of mHealth information by providing learning opportunities, vetted resource banks, practical program guidance, and ways to connect with others in the field. We have taken a very pragmatic approach to mHealth knowledge management. Staying true to the K4Health brand, we are your honest broker and neutral source for mHealth knowledge.

mHealth Knowledge is a true testament to the human connection in global health. Each component of K4Health’s mHealth portfolio is a result of years of collaboration with other leaders and organizations working in mHealth.

Moving forward, in addition to the host of partners supporting our work, we need to hear from you. You can fill out our feedback form at any time, and we invite you to share your mHealth story and/or most pressing challenges. Specifically:

  • How have K4Health’s mHealth products helped you accomplish your goals?
  • How can these tools be updated and improved?
  • What are your unmet mHealth knowledge needs, and how can we address them?

Please also use our feedback form to subscribe to our quarterly mHealth Knowledge newsletter. We’ll announce more opportunities for engagement within each mailing.

Lastly, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I’m Heidi Good Boncana, the mHealth Portfolio Manager at K4Health and ICT & Innovations Program Officer within CCP. I took on this new role in January, and I’m looking forward to working with many of you in the coming years. You are welcome to reach out to me directly with any comments, via heidi.good@jhu.edu.
