Rachel Deussom

IntraHealth International | Health Workforce Officer, CapacityPlus

Rachel Deussom is a global health specialist with 11 years of experience focusing on health systems strengthening, HIV/AIDS, and maternal health. With the CapacityPlus project, supported by USAID and led by IntraHealth International, she develops and conducts interventions to build capacity for implementing evidence-based health workforce policies in the areas of pre-service education, retention, productivity, and sustainable financing. Since working as a community health volunteer in the Peace Corps in northern Cameroon, Rachel has implemented health programs in 15 countries across Africa.  She teaches comparative global health systems at the Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University.  Rachel holds a BA in French and business from Georgetown University and a Master of Science in global health from the Harvard School of Public Health.
