Monique Clesca is a children’s and women’s rights advocate. She is the recipient of great recognition for her groundbreaking work as UNFPA’s Representative in Niger (2012-2016), particularly for her advocacy to end child marriage, the promotion of family planning and girls’ empowerment programs, and an alliance with Niger’s powerful traditional chiefs. Now retired, she lives in Haiti and the USA and is writing a memoir.
