Katherine Tumlinson is a doctoral candidate in the department of epidemiology and a pre-doctoral trainee at the Carolina Population Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is also a research assistant on the Measurement, Learning & Evaluation Project for the Urban Reproductive Health Initiative. Ms. Tumlinson’s research agenda focuses on identifying modifiable factors influencing contraceptive use dynamics in developing countries, with an emphasis on the quality of family planning service delivery. Her extensive experience in the field of family planning, both domestically and internationally, is illustrated by her roles as service provider, educator, technical expert, and researcher. She has lived and worked in several countries including Kenya, Peru, and Portugal.
