Heidi Good Boncana

CCP | mHealth Portfolio Manager

Heidi’s expertise lies in crafting public health information into print, multimedia and knowledge management products. Over the past 15 years, she has worked with clients to shape programmatic material into products to increase the impact and visibility of each initiative. Heidi has lead projects to strengthen socially responsible public-private partnerships, resource mobilization, knowledge management, behavior change, service delivery, and advocacy. Having worked as a professional documentary photographer and photo editor for a decade, her content is often highly visual and has focused on improved maternal, newborn and child health; family planning; women's equity; child protection; girls' education; water, sanitation, and hygiene; and health access to services. Current work focuses on using ICTs, e/mHealth tools, platforms, and content to support frontline health workers in low- and middle-income countries to lessen health disparities, strengthen health systems, and improve access to information and quality care for mothers and children in resource-poor areas of the world.

Heidi holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations with additional coursework in International Global Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Over her career, she has traveled and worked in more than 40 countries across West Africa, Asia, Central and South America, the Caribbean and the United States for clients including UNICEF, UNDP, Doctors Without Borders, The Globe & Mail, UNESCO-L’oreal Partnership for Women in Science, Sony Pictures, and Penguin Books. She is most interested in intersections between cultural anthropology, semiotics, health, family, community, and storytelling, as well as use of simple appropriate technologies to connect us to each other and to information. Heidi has been with CCP since 2011.

She has an unhealthy obsession with photobooths and handmade books, and enjoys cooking and playing with babies.
