Elena Ghanotakis is a global health and development professional who specializes in HIV and gender. Elena has extensive experience working on policy and programming related to prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV programs all over the world. Her experience includes providing technical assistance at the national, district, and site levels; policy analysis; technical writing; creating tools for national programs to adapt and implement international guidelines; evidence-based advocacy; and convening and facilitating communities of practice. Elena has authored numerous publications and created two documentaries on HIV and gender for PBS Frontline World. As a consultant, her clients include private foundations, UN agencies, academic institutions, and corporate clients. Elena has a MSc in Public Health in Developing Countries from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a BA with Honors in Government/International Relations from Dartmouth College.
