David Potenziani

IntraHealth International | Senior Informatics Advisor

David D. Potenziani is senior informatics advisor at IntraHealth International.

He works with a variety of nations and groups to develop and extend the application of health informatics technologies and approaches. He explores global health informatics generally with dives into CamelCase domains: mHealth, eLearning, eHealth policy, mSakhi, and iHRIS.

Previously, David worked at the University of North Carolina in a number of positions in the School of Medicine and the Gillings School of Global Public Health. He served as executive director of the National Collaborative for Bio-Preparedness and before that as Senior Associate Dean and Information Technology Director at the Gillings School.

He has served as an advisor to the American Public Health Association’s Health Informatics Information Technology special interest group. He has served on and chaired the Association of Schools of Public Health Learning Futures Council. He holds a faculty appointment in Health Policy and Management at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health.

He is also a recovering historian and a writer of nerd science fiction.
