Brian Mutebi

Education & Development Opportunity – Uganda | Founder & Executive Director

Brian Mutebi is a 2016 winner of 120 Under 40: The New Generation of Family Planning Leaders. He is the founder and Executive Director of Education & Development Opportunity – Uganda (EDOU) and the architect of the Brian Mutebi Dream Scholarship Fund. He is an award-winning journalist and women’s rights campaigner featured on Women Deliver’s global list of “15 Journalists, 15 Voices for Girls and Women” and described by News Deeply as “One of Africa’s leading women's rights crusaders” for his extensive writing and advocacy. Mutebi is a contributor to Global Health Now and Arise Magazine, a women’s development magazine published by the women’s rights advocacy organisation, Action for Development. Previously, he was a features writer at the Daily Monitor, where he extensively reported on health, gender, and development. He was a freelance writer with the New Vision and contributor to Focus Magazine, a publication of the Makerere University Gender Mainstreaming Programme.
