Bettina Brunner

Bettina Brunner is an international health professional with more than 18 years of professional experience working in family planning, reproductive health and HIV with a focus on public-private partnerships in health, health systems strengthening, technical management and grant writing. She serves as regional country director for Francophone Africa with Abt Associates through funding from USAID’s Strengthening Health Outcomes through the Private Sector (SHOPS) project. In this role she oversees several programs in West Africa and also manages SHOPS activities in Ethiopia. Prior to joining Abt she was a consultant at the World Bank Group with the Health in Africa Initiative and worked for 10 years as an international health consultant, traveling extensively and conducting health research in Asia and Africa.  Ms. Brunner also worked extensively in the field of forced labor in commodity supply chains as a consultant with Verité and served as vice president at Westex International, an export trading firm.
