Ann Yang

IntraHealth International | Project Officer

Ann Yang is a Project Officer with IntraHealth International and works on the CapacityPlus Project, USAID’s flagship project on the global health workforce. She is passionate about assessing determinants that undermine vulnerable populations on the global scale and using evidence-based strategies to improve overall systems for better social and health outcomes.

Her research experience includes looking at systematic gaps related to the health workforce and gender discrimination in health systems. Prior to IntraHealth, she conducted an evaluation in the Morogoro Region of Tanzania, looking at facility readiness to deliver maternal and newborn health services through the availability of essential medical equipment, supplies and health workers. Her graduate-level research also included conducting a constraint analysis to understand the limited infrastructure of Iraq’s mental health care system for survivors of torture.

Ann holds a Master’s in Health Systems from the Department of International Health at Johns Hopkins. She also has a Bachelor’s in Biology and Society, Global Health, and Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University.
