What are K4Health Toolkits?

K4Health Toolkits are electronic collections of carefully selected information resources on a particular topic for health policy makers, program managers, and service providers. They are based on a continuous publishing principle that allows them to evolve after publication to capture additional resources and to identify and fill remaining information gaps.

Purpose and audiences of this toolkit

The Knowledge for Health (K4Health) Project initiated the Haiti Relief Toolkit soon after the Haiti Earthquake in January 2010. The purpose is to provide international and local relief workers with access to a technical resource package of key tools and materials to help with relief efforts on the ground. The materials included in the toolkit focus on meeting both immediate and long-term needs of the Haitian people. To facilitate access to the toolkit where there is no Internet access, K4Health is distributing the toolkit on flash drives. Types of resources in this toolkit

This toolkit provides relevant, reliable, and usable information related to disaster relief. The resources were selected with health policy makers, program managers, and service providers in mind. For example, the toolkit contains:

Manuals and reference materials to ensure proper relief efforts.
Checklists and other tools to increase the effectiveness and quality of activities and services.
Various publication formats including manuals, briefs, pamphlets, posters, teaching and training materials, tools, and job aids.
