Kenya

In 2010, K4Health explored with Kenya Ministry of Health officials the possibility of using the K4Health Toolkit platform to host the Ministry of Health's existing Department of Reproductive Health (DRH) website and update it using locally relevant, up-to-date, evidence-based, practical information on sexual and reproductive health for health care professionals in Kenya.

The Division of Reproductive Health revamped the existing website using the K4Health Toolkit platform to provide users with current Kenya-specific materials. Members of the National Family Planning Working Group, including key DRH staff, USAID, and partner organizations, provided input, new content, and review under the leadership of FHI 360.

In March 2012, the DRH launched the new website, which includes information about the DRH, national policies and guidelines, and strategies of principal DRH programs. It also includes the DHR reproductive health communication strategy, service delivery guidelines, and information about the DRH's reproductive health training plan. In addition, the website embeds selected global K4Health Toolkits on family planning and reproductive health topics, such as adolescents living with HIV, community-based family planning, and mHealth, to provide Division of Reproductive Health website users direct access to relevant health information.

Project Duration: November 2010 – December 2011
