Family Planning e-Conference
On May 8-10, 2012, the USAID-funded SHOPS project will host a three day e-conference on long-acting and permanent methods of family planning (LAPMs). LAPMs include implants, intrauterine devices, and sterilization procedures. This e-conference will discuss the barriers to private sector provision of LAPMs, as well as lessons learned from people who have successfully introduced LAPMs in the private health sector.
Attendees will have the opportunity to watch presentations, ask questions, and participate in moderated live chats with other e-conference participants from around the world.
The conference will open on May 1 with a plenary session led by Marguerite Farrell and Susan Mitchell. Farrell is the private sector team leader at USAID, and Mitchell is the project director of the SHOPS project. Technical panels and chats will follow on May 8-10.
