Matthew Phelps
USAID | Program Assistant
As part of the the Research Utilization team in the Office of Population and Reproductive Health at USAID, Matthew is heavily involved in work on the High Impact Practices (HIPs) in Family Planning and leads the HIP mapping activity. He has a strong interest in geospatial issues in global health and works on other geospatial initiatives within USAID.
Before joining USAID, Matthew worked in the field as a Peace Corps Health volunteer in southeastern Cameroon. There he focused on community mobilization and income generating activities for community associations who had public health goals.
Matthew holds a Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from the University of Western Australia and a B.A. in History from Purdue University.
