Guiding project design, implementation, and documenting achievements
Needs Assessment: What do people want?
Understanding and responding to user needs is an essential part of successful information services. To better know what health information key audiences seek and how they search for it, K4Health's needs assessment activities have investigated this and related questions including: What infrastructure exists to support information and communication technologies (ICTs)? Who are the key stakeholders? And, what barriers inhibit the use of up-to-date health information?
K4Health's work is based on a continuous feedback principle that ensures audience demand for health information is routinely gauged and met. This research provides a useful means to address the unique needs of each country, existing gaps in health information, as well as preferred formats and delivery mechanisms that will enhance work performance, save costs, and ultimately improve the quality of health care services and health outcomes in each country.

Monitoring and Evaluation: How do we know we are making a difference?
Monitoring and evaluation (M&E) is an essential process to use when seeking an understanding of how public health professionals share, adapt, and apply health information, knowledge, and best practices. K4Health is committed to using robust and systematic M&E approaches to demonstrate project effectiveness.
The M&E methodology is guided by the K4Health conceptual framework, knowledge management principles, relevant theoretical constructs including the diffusion of innovations, and a comprehensive logic model that links health information demand with products, services, and ultimately, health outcomes.
